SolaX Power is a China-based solar inverter, battery and EV charger manufacturer that has been in the market since 2012 and has become a dominant brand name. Since then the company has grown tremendously and is now present in 80 countries with more than 2,500 employees. They employ 80 people in R&D and have an inverter manufacturing capacity of 30GW. The company is headquartered near Shanghai and has several offices and sales centres worldwide, including Europe, North America and Asia. What do their inverters offer?

Asymmetric power and uninterruptible power supply

SolaX phase-assimetric hybrid inverters maximise the on-site consumption of solar generation. This is particularly useful for non-backfeed (and later gross metering) systems.

The inverter is able to switch automatically to island mode within 10 milliseconds, equivalent to uninterruptible power supply. In island mode, the maximum available power is 50% of the nominal AC power of the SolaX inverter. Maximum 5kW per phase.

SolaX inverters have a built-in backup box so that in the event of a power failure, the property's electrical consumers can continue to operate without interruption as long as we stay within the range specified above. This can be sustained in sunny weather with DC-side generation or the energy available in the battery lasts. Since some countries' grid utilities require different export limits, the inverter must have a different export control mode to comply. SolaX's hybrid inverters with phase asymmetric output maximize the on-site consumption of solar generation, which is essential in today's back- and gross-metering systems. SolaX's X3-hybrid range is an excellent solution for the needs of the Hungarian and European market, combined with batteries and a smartmeter.

SolaX product portfolio

The inverters offered by the company include single-phase and three-phase inverters, which are available in different power ranges. SolaX's single-phase inverters offer a wide range of power outputs, typically from 1 kW to 6 kW. This allows the system to be tailored to the user's needs. Thanks to their small size, they are easy to install and operate, and their high efficiency provides users with significant energy savings. In addition, the reliability of SolaX inverters is also a big advantage, as they have a long lifetime and warranty. They can also be optimised on a per-panel basis, for example with Tigo brand optics, to improve the expected yield for shadier or more fragmented roofs. Their three-phase inverters offer power outputs from 5 kW up to 225 kW and are suitable for larger installations, such as commercial and industrial solar systems. They have several features such as built-in WiFi, touch screen display and advanced monitoring. A proprietary energy storage system has been developed, capable of the aforementioned uninterruptible power supply. Thanks to the latest LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology, it has a higher temperature tolerance and is safer to install. SolaX inverters come with a 10-year warranty in the European Union. All inverters must be registered on the SolaX website in order to be covered by the SolaX exchange programme! The inverter must be registered at the latest 6 weeks after installation.

Awards and recognitions

SolaX Power was named winner of the "All Quality Matters" award in the category of energy storage inverter for home use (10 kW) for its most innovative three-phase X3-Hybrid G4 inverter. In the same year, SolaX Power also won the Red Dot Award Product Design 2021 for its latest X-ESS G4 energy storage system, which features an innovative futuristic design and unique technology, and is essentially an all-in-one residential solar system.
