Tigo communication set Cloud Connect Advanced
Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) – Data Logger and Communication Gateway for Tigo TS4 Systems
The Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) is a compact, high-performance data collector and communication gateway designed specifically to support the monitoring and security functions of Tigo TS4 module-level power electronics (MLPE) devices. The CCA collects data from Tigo TS4 optimizersand transmits it in real time to the Tigo Cloud platform—enabling module-level production monitoring and rapid shutdown functions.
Module-level monitoring—what does this mean in practice?
With the CCA, the performance of each individual solar module can be tracked independently via the Tigo Cloud platform. This means that if a panel is shaded, malfunctions, or experiences a drop in performance, the system immediately flags it—with module-level precision. This provides significantly more information than traditional string-level monitoring, where only the average of the entire string is visible.
Rapid Shutdown – NEC Compliance
The CCA, together with the Tigo Access Point (TAP)unit, ensures compliance with NEC 2017, 2020, and 2023 Standard 690.12 for the rapid shutdown function. This means that in the event of a fire or other emergency, the voltage of all solar modules can be immediately and safely reduced—to ensure the safety of firefighters and responders. It can collect data from up to 900 TS4 optimizers per unit, via 7 TAPs.
Flexible connectivity and compatibility
The CCA also features an Ethernet USB port and can communicate with third-party Modbus-compatible devices—such as inverters, charge controllers, weather stations, and energy meters. This means that not only data from Tigo optimizersbut also performance data from the entire solar system can be displayed on a single platform. The CCA is compatible with virtually all string inverters.
Installation and Technical Specifications
The CCA comes with a DIN-rail mount, measures 31×115.5×71.5 mm, and weighs just 126g. It requires a 12–24V DC power supply for 2 TAPs, or 24V DC for 3 or more TAPs. Power consumption is 3–10W. Operating temperature range: –20°C to +85°C, maximum altitude: 3000m. It can be ordered as a standalone unit (CCA standalone), together with a TAP and DIN-rail power supply, or combined with an outdoor enclosure. Available among communication accessories.
SOLARKIT reviews
The Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) is an essential component of the Tigo MLPE ecosystem: module-level monitoring, NEC-compliant rapid shutdown, and flexible third-party integration—all in a compact, DIN-rail mountable design. We recommend it for those who are installing Tigo TS4 optimizers in their solar systemsand want professional, module-level data collection and safety features.
