Hybrid inverters
The hybrid solar inverter is not just a converter!
The real heart of solar power systems is not the panel itself, but the hybrid inverter, which brings together, optimizes, and controls the entire energy management system. The key to modern energy management is not a simple inverter, but an intelligent control center.
The hybrid inverters offered by SOLARKIT do more than just convert direct current into alternating current. These devices are capable of storing energy, feeding it back into the grid, and even operating the system in island mode – all with intelligent monitoring. Deye, Huawei and SolaX inverters stand out for their reliability and versatility.
Imagine installing a system for your customers that automatically optimizes energy consumption, manages stored energy, and ensures continuity of supply even in the event of a power outage. A hybrid inverter is not just a technological advance – it's a competitive advantage.

What is the difference between a hybrid solar inverter and an off-grid inverter?
A hybrid inverter has an energy storage device (battery) and a grid connection, so in addition to generating AC from DC, it can also be charged from the grid and feed surplus energy back into it. In contrast, an off-grid (stand-alone) inverter operates independently – it is powered only by panels or batteries and is neither connected to the grid nor sends energy to it
Another key difference is that hybrid inverters often have anti-islanding protection, which allows for a smooth transition between grid-connected and off-grid operation.
Will I still have power in the event of a power outage? What else do I need?
Yes, with a hybrid inverter, the power supply will continue to function even in the event of a power outage – but only if you have a battery. This is because a hybrid system can only operate in island mode if it has energy storage capacity. Conventional on-grid inverters, on the other hand, switch off when the grid fails and do not supply power.
So you need: solar panels, a hybrid inverter, a battery with sufficient capacity, and the right settings (e.g. activation of UPS or backup mode).
How do I choose the right inverter?
First, you need to measure the daily/peak power consumption of the given object (W/day, W/peak) and match it to the rated power of the inverter. For example, if the peak power is 6 kW, then you need an inverter with at least this capacity, or preferably higher.
Another consideration is that the total power of the panels should not exceed the input capacity of the inverter (e.g., 6 kW panel area – 6 kW inverter). The battery charging must also be taken into account: MPPT current threshold, charging current and inverter efficiency all matter. It is advisable to consult an expert to calculate the system additions and plan for a safety reserve.
Is a parallel inverter configuration also possible when using a hybrid solar inverter?
Yes, modern hybrid inverters (e.g., Huawei, SolaX) can operate in parallel, allowing multiple units to be connected to increase power output. This structural scalability is ideal for larger systems and also provides redundancy.
During installation, care must be taken to ensure model compatibility and synchronization, and the control must be set up correctly, but most hybrid systems support this configuration.
What is the "zero export" function?
The purpose of the zero export function is to prevent the inverter from sending energy to the grid: it only produces as much as is immediately consumed locally and does not allow any surplus to flow out.
This is particularly important in regions where there is no feed-in tariff or where grid export is prohibited. The function uses CT sensors or an energy management system to regulate production so that the grid remains at zero.

SOLARKIT hybrid inverter reviews and recommendations
The hybrid inverters available in the SOLARKIT range – especially the SolaX and Deye models – are reliable, efficient and offer good value for money, according to user feedback. Fast and smooth warranty processing, resistance to outdoor conditions and EPS support further enhance their appeal. Users often also use smart meter solutions in their systems, which enable accurate consumption measurement and fine-tuned energy distribution.
The flexibility of hybrid systems is particularly evident when a solar optimizer is also installed, as this allows the output of each panel to be controlled individually, ensuring maximum yield even in shaded conditions. If you are looking for stable, innovative and commercially competitive solutions for solar power systems, SOLARKIT hybrid inverters have earned well-established customer and professional recognition.
