What is the TP-HS50E battery used for?

The TP-HS50E’s function is to store energy generated by the solar system but not immediately used, and then feed it back into the system later—typically in the evening, during peak consumption hours, or in the event of a power outage. The battery operates entirely under the control of the X3-IES inverter, so there is no need for a separate battery controller or external electronics.

Communication, protection functions, and charge/discharge control are provided by the SolaX BMS of HS50E with Base (TBMS-MCS0800E), and the inverter manages the battery through this unit. As a result, the system operates stably and predictably; use with other inverters or systems from other manufacturers is not supported.

The system can also be optionally supplemented with the SolaX 3-phase CT smart meter, which aids in the accurate measurement of consumption and grid energy flow. The smart meter is not required for the inverter to function, but it is highly recommended for many installations.
