SolaX TP-HS50E HV Battery Module – 5 kWh

The SolaX TP-HS50E is a high-voltage (HV) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery module specifically developed for SolaX X3-IES All-in-Oneenergy storage systems. It is important to note that this module does not operate as a standalone product: the TP-HS50E is a core component of the X3-IES system’s battery section, which, together with the inverter, provides a complete, scalable energy storage solution.

What is the TP-HS50E battery used for?

The TP-HS50E’s function is to store energy generated by the solar system but not immediately used, and then feed it back into the system later—typically in the evening, during peak consumption hours, or in the event of a power outage. The battery operates entirely under the control of the X3-IES inverter, so there is no need for a separate battery controller or external electronics.

Modular design, flexible expandability

A TP-HS50E battery module has a nominal capacity of 5.1 kWh, of which 4.6 kWh is usable energy. The system is modular, meaning that the total capacity can be increased by stacking multiple identical batteries. This allows the system to start with a smaller energy storage capacity and then be expanded later—for example, in the event of increasing consumption or the introduction of an electric vehicle.

What is it compatible with?

The TP-HS50E battery module is primarily designed for the SolaX X3-IES all-in-one system, but it can also be used with a SolaX X3-Hybrid inverter when paired with the TBMS-MCS0800E-Dcontroller. Communication, protection functions, and charge/discharge control are provided by the SolaX BMS of HS50E with Base (TBMS-MCS0800E), and the inverter manages the battery through this unit. As a result, the system operates stably and predictably; use with other inverters or systems from other manufacturers is not supported.

Optional accessory: smart meter for accurate measurement

The system can also be optionally supplemented with the SolaX 3-phase CT smart meter, which aids in the accurate measurement of consumption and grid energy flow. This can be particularly useful if the goal is precise self-consumption optimization or more detailed monitoring of system operation. The smart meter is not required for the inverter to function, but it is highly recommended for many installations.

Safety and Lifespan

The TP-HS50E is based on LFP technology, which is currently one of the safest battery chemistries in the field of energy storage. According to the manufacturer’s data, the battery is designed for a lifespan of over 6,000 cycles, with an expected lifespan of 10 years. The system is under constant monitoring, with the charging and discharging processes jointly managed by the inverter and the built-in BMS.

SOLARKIT Review

The TP-HS50E battery module is a good choice for those who want to build the SolaX X3-IES All-in-One system gradually, yet with manufacturer support. Due to its modular design, it does not require oversizing at the start, while also providing a stable foundation for expanding energy storage in the long term.
