SolaX TP-HS50E HV Battery for IES 5kWh
SolaX TP-HS50E HV battery module – 5 kWh
The SolaX TP-HS50E is a high-voltage (HV) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery module designed specifically for SolaX X3-IES All-in-One energy storage systems. It is important to note that this module does not function as a standalone product: the TP-HS50E is one of the basic components of the battery part of the X3-IES system, which, together with the inverter, provides a complete, scalable energy storage solution.
What is the TP-HS50E battery used for?
The TP-HS50E stores energy generated by the solar system but not used immediately, and then returns it to the system later, typically in the evening, during peak consumption hours, or in the event of a power outage. The battery is fully controlled by the X3-IES inverter, so there is no need for a separate battery controller or external electronics.
Modular design, flexible expandability
A TP-HS50E battery module has a nominal capacity of 5.1 kWh, of which 4.6 kWh is available as usable energy. The system is modular, meaning that the total capacity can be increased by stacking several identical batteries on top of each other. This allows the system to start with a smaller energy storage capacity and then be expanded later, for example, in the event of increasing consumption or the introduction of electric cars.
What is it compatible with?
It is important to note that the TP-HS50E is not a universal battery, but is specifically designed for the SolaX X3-IES inverter family and works with the associated BMS unit. Communication, protection functions, and charge/discharge control are provided by the SolaX BMS of HS50E with Base (TBMS-MCS0800E), through which the inverter manages the battery. For this reason, the system operates in a stable and predictable manner, and use with other inverters or systems from other manufacturers is not supported.
Optional accessory: smart meter for accurate measurement
The system can also be optionally supplemented with the SolaX 3-phase CT smart meter, which helps to accurately measure consumption and grid energy flow. This can be particularly useful when the goal is to optimize self-consumption or monitor system operation in more detail. The smart meter is not a prerequisite for the inverter to function, but it is a highly recommended accessory for many installations.
Safety and service life
The TP-HS50E is based on LFP technology, which is currently one of the safest battery chemistries in the field of energy storage. According to the manufacturer's data, the battery is designed for a service life of over 6000 cycles, with an expected service life of 10 years. The system is under constant supervision, with the charging and discharging processes monitored jointly by the inverter and the built-in BMS.
SOLARKIT opinion
The TP-HS50E battery module is a good choice for those who want to build the SolaX X3-IES All-in-One system gradually, yet with manufacturer support. Due to its modular design, it does not require oversizing at the start, while providing a stable foundation for energy storage expansion in the long term.
