What is it used for?

The ERK-TRB-D01 is primarily intended for PV installation projects on shingle roofs of residential buildings. It can be used where the roof surface does not allow for direct rail mounting and an intermediate, angle-adjustable support leg is required that rests on the roof rafter or roof structure. Typical applications: Residential systems ranging from 5 to 30 kWp, where a fast, repeatable installation process is important.

How does it work?

The L-bracket is screwed directly onto the roof structure or batten (through an Ø8.5 mm hole), and the rail—to which the panels are attached—is then fitted onto it. The “L” shape ensures that both vertical and horizontal forces are transferred to the roof structure, rather than acting as point loads. The 80 mm vertical shank provides sufficient clearance to allow for proper air circulation and water runoff between the rail and the roof.

Technical and System-Level Benefits

The component is made of AL6005-T5 aluminum and SUS304 stainless steel—this combination ensures a long service life without galvanic corrosion, which is particularly important when combined with aluminum rails. The TÜV SÜD certification (in accordance with standard PPP 59029C:2025) applies to snow load zone 2 and wind zone 2, for building heights up to 18 meters and a panel angle of 30°—covering the vast majority of typical residential installations in Central Europe. The certificate is valid until 2030.

Important to know

This L-bracket was specifically designed and tested for shingle roofs (tiles or roofing materials with a similar profile). A different mounting bracket is required for flat roofs, trapezoidal sheet metal roofs, or wood shingle roofs. The TÜV SÜD certification was issued based on parameters applicable to Germany (altitude < 285 m above sea level), but the specified snow and wind zone classifications are also relevant for most of Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.
