What is it used for?

You use this adapter when you need to connect a roof hook (T01, T06, T17, or cork hook) to the mounting rail without having to pre-drill holes in the rail. Typical applications include residential tile-roof installations, industrial and commercial (C&I) projects on metal roofs, and systems where the position of the hooks needs to be fine-tuned after installation to accommodate the specific characteristics of the roof structure.

How does it work?

The rail clamp connects to the inner groove of the mounting rail via a sliding nut, allowing it to be freely positioned along the rail before securing it. The ball-head screw accommodates minor angular deviations between the hook and the rail, which is particularly useful when the roof battens or rafters are not perfectly aligned. Once you tighten the screw, the clamp securely fastens the rail to the hook and creates a mechanical connection suitable for grounding.

Technical and System-Level Benefits

The adapter is compatible with the Mountkit mounting rail family (3.5 m and 4.2 m lightweight versions) and all factory-installed roof hooks, making it suitable for use on tile, shingle, and metal roof systems alike. Important to know

The adapter alone does not provide a mounting solution—it is useless without a roof hook and mounting rail. For tile-roof installations, it is most useful when combined with an adjustable roof hook (T06 or T17), as this preserves both vertical and horizontal adjustment range. If the rail is already fixed in position and no subsequent adjustment is needed, a simpler solution—screwed directly into the rail—will also work.
