What is it used for?

It is used to secure solar panel systems mounted on standing seam (double-seam, click-lock) steel and aluminum sheet roofs. Typical applications include PV systems installed on the roofs of industrial and commercial buildings, agricultural structures, warehouses, and residential metal-roofed homes. It’s the ideal choice when preserving the integrity of the roof covering is a priority—the extended design is particularly well-suited for installations exposed to high wind loads that require greater load-bearing capacity.

How does it work?

Place the hook on the roof shingle, then secure it to the metal roofing by tightening the two side screws—no drilling, welding, or punching is required, so the roof’s waterproofing remains intact. The upper contact surface serves as the mounting base for the mounting rail or for clamping the module directly. The extended body (110 mm base section, with 80 mm screw spacing) distributes the clamping force exerted on the roof ridge over a larger surface area, which reduces the risk of local deformation and increases pull-out resistance against environmental loads.

Differences

Compared to the classic (short) roof hook, the extended version offers a larger contact surface and higher load-bearing capacity—choose this if structural calculations indicate higher wind or snow loads, or if the longitudinal orientation of the panels means that more force is concentrated on fewer fastening points. Compared to L-brackets or screw-fastened solutions that require drilling, the main advantage is that you do not damage the roof covering—however, it is only suitable for standing seam metal roofs, not for trapezoidal sheet metal.

Important to know

Designed exclusively for standing seam (double seam, click-lock) metal roofs—do not use this for trapezoidal sheets or ribbed-profile roofs; drill-mounted solutions (L-brackets, screw anchors) are intended for those applications. It’s a good idea to check the seam geometry before installation: not all seam profile sizes are automatically compatible. For projects with higher wind loads or on a C&I scale, we recommend structural analysis to determine the spacing of the mounting points.
